FIRs Filed Against 214 Individuals for Illegal Colonies and Eateries in Gurugram

The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), Gurugram has initiated strict action against unauthorized housing colonies and illegal commercial setups across the district. A total of 15 FIRs have been recommended against 214 people, including 208 landowners involved in illegal plotting and 6 individuals running unapproved eateries and warehouses.

The violations cover nearly 23.5 acres of land spread across villages such as Pataudi, Farrukhnagar, Dhankot, Jatauli, Bhodakalan, and Baghnaki. Officials revealed that several landowners had sold plots without proper licenses or infrastructure approvals, violating the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act.

Despite repeated show-cause notices and restoration orders, many failed to comply, prompting the DTCP to forward the cases to the State Enforcement Bureau for criminal action. In some areas, demolition drives have already been carried out to restore land to its original agricultural use.

The crackdown also targets commercial violations — including unauthorized dhabas, hotels, and warehouses operating outside permitted zones. Key examples include a dhaba in Sidhrawali, a hotel in Bhodakalan, and two unapproved warehouses that were constructed without the required permissions.

Officials emphasized that such actions are part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal development in Gurugram and ensure that real estate growth follows approved master plans.
